A multitalented composer, producer, audio engineer, sound designer, violinist, cellist, and vocalist, Rena Jones has been described as "the revered daughter of San Francisco's electronic music scene" -- OEM Radio.

Rena Jones' third and most recent release "Driftwood" (2006) on Native State Records; features all mid-tempo, glitch and chill out. The album weaves cello, violin, woodwinds, electronics and rhodes through unique instrumentation. "Driftwood" was given the honor of the sixth most essential album of 2006 on NPR Echoes Radio. She has also released several tracks with such reputable international labels as Iboga, Spun Records, Aleph Zero and Native State Records.

Rena Jones' live sets are a potent sonic session. She orchestrates her cello and violin over hand crafted beats melding the organic with the electronic. Her performance is a sophisticated example of the modern movement in electronic dance and ambient music.

Desert Dwellers is the dynamic collaboration between Amani, Treavor Moontribe and Rara Avis; the roots of this “virtual band" emerging from deep within the electronic music scene of the Southwest deserts. Because of their diverse musical backgrounds, it is impossible hold the Desert Dwellers to any one genre; their expression ranging from full-on dance tracks to deep-hypnotic ambient spaces and yoga-dub soundscapes. Brennan Murphey is known throughout the northwest for his prolific music production, uplifting live psytrance sets, and live flute and guitar work. He was the first performer on the west coast to publicly demonstrate an original implementation of the reacTIVision tangible user interface, whereby he mixes his songs using playing cards in front of a video camera. Originally from the high desert town of Taos, New Mexico, he has preformed his original music for energetic crowds alongside the likes of Osiris Indriya, Sirius Isness, and Rabbit in the Moon throughout the western United States. Epsylon is also a successful promoter and experienced professional music educator, heading up Spun Academy's music production program for over a year before recently founding his own Phoenix Fire Sound School in Portland. He has helped many aspiring producers achieve expertise in the crafts of sound. In December of 2007, Epsylon teamed up with Osiris Indriya to form the project "Penticle". Penticle is currently working on its first album entitled "Keys to Shyamballah", scheduled for release in early 2008.

After spending several magical years in the industrial rave scene (warehouse spaceships) in Pittsburgh, PA during the middle to late 90's and after promoting about 20 raves during that same incredible mystical time period, I began my expedition as a dj. Actually, it wasn't that glorious, it happened by accident. A friend of mine left on vacation for a few weeks and asked if I would do him a favor and babysit his gear. I promptly agreed and his turntables and mixer sat in my basement for 2 days before I even touched them. I then decided I was going to "play" with them, so I went to a "new" little record store in Pittsburgh called Milk and bought my first tracks on vinyl. I went looking for some deep house and walked out with an arm full of Danny Tenaglia style tribal. After about 48 hours of nonstop trainwrecking I decided it was time to eat and get some sleep. I was straight up hooked on the vinyl crack.

Now seven years later, I am back to my east coast roots spinning melodic, chunky, dirty, minimal techno. I would not dare deny my west coast family a style that suits their tastes as well, so look out for new dubstep mixes with special mc work by Pete Clark. I want to thank anyone who ever danced while I played, you will never know how precious those moments are to me and I look forward to enjoying many more moments where we all meet on higher plane and the world slips away.

Tuva Camp 2008

Dear Friends

Thank you for your interest to our music.

Last summer we held a throat singing camp in Tuva.

We had 14 students from around the world - 8 of them were from the US, 2 from Australia
2 from Denmark, 1 from France, 1 from England.
After arriving in Tuva, the students spent 1 week in Kyzyl, the capital city.
They were able to see many tourist attractions, see a Tuvan shaman,
and attend the Naadym - National Harvest Celebration.

The students then went on to spend 1 week in the deep taiga, with members of the Tuvan throat singing group Chirgilchin,
learning various styles of throat singing, traditional Tuvan instruments, as well as the Tuvan language.

This summer, we are trying to get 2 groups to go to Tuva again, in either June or July.

Jeffrey is from Kyoto, Japan. Jamie is from Portland, Oregon. They came together on the psychedelic dance floors of the Pacific NW. While from opposite sides of the planet, they shared a common vision: psychedelic music. Jeffrey had been into psychedelic rock for years before arriving in Goa, India. The music he found there delivered a bite he hadnt felt in years. **Things to Remember**
It’s summer and though we are in the NW, it’s a good idea to bring sun block and plenty of water. Due to the location and logistics of the event, it would be great if people could bring enough water for personal needs as well as additional water for the inevitable. There’s no 7-11 nearby, so stock up before you come!

Shade structures will be provided, but additional contributions in that area are always appreciated.

We are asking you to help contribute to the event by requesting a $10-$20 donation at the entrance.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AFP) - Archaeologists discovered a pre-colonial astrological observatory possibly 2,000 years old in the Amazon basin near French Guiana, said a report.

"Only a society with a complex culture could have built such a monument," archaeologist Mariana Petry Cabral, of the Amapa Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (IEPA), told O Globo newspaper.

The observatory was built of 127 blocks of granite each three meters (10 feet) high and regularly placed in circles in an open field, she said.

Cabral said the site resembles a temple which could have been used as an observatory, because the blocks are positioned to mark the winter solstice. In December, the path of the sun allows rays to pass through a hole in one of the blocks, possibly to calculate agricultural activity and religious rituals.....

The place is actually called the Linwood Bar and Grill. This party is at the club/bar You ll hear the music. Parking (come early) is in
the rear and FREE but MAKE SURE YOU CHECK with the doorman that you parked in a correct zone. Parking for about 15-20 cars.
There's a parking garage directly across the street as well as a cab company. About 1.5 blocks going down Kilmarnock St after
Queensberry St on the right is a small lot. Parking is easy and readily available since it s further away from Lansdowne St Expect
to pay $5-10 to park if you cannot park behind The Linwood.The Linwood is a rather large, GREAT bar. Over 50 bottles of unique beer,
20 on tap. General prices are ~$4 for 12oz bottle or ~$4 for a pint. .It's no punk bar anymore. Changed managementand the whole
place was gutted. Looks great pix on site soon. .

NOTE PARTY 9PM -1AM. DUE TO STUPID BOSTON LAWS ALL LIVE MUSIC MUST CEASE AT 1AM FOR THIS PLACE. BAR IS

October 15th will mark a millstone for the ecstatic dance community in Portland! On this Saturday, we will be visited by world-renowned ecstatic dance facilitators, and international-class musicians who have come to activate and awaken us with the most extreme-cutting edge take on the ecstatic dance experience offered anywhere!

For so many of us, dance is our passion and religion. We chase after the experience, dream of our Saturday nights and summer festivals, fantasize about dance during the more mundane things in our lives.

onto 26 west..

Exit 299 B 26 w to beaverton...follow signs...

From Portland~ Get on 26 west toward beaverton/ocean beaches..
follow 26 wst you will go through manning,this is the last town before the turn off.

after approx. 30 miles on 26west
look for signs reading 47 north..a Shell StaTION will be on your left
and 47 north to your right..take this right.

follow 47 for 5.6 miles....up a windy hill and whe it declines you
will pass some houses and Hoffman street will be on your right,
just after hoffman street look for Pebble creek rd on your right.
47 veers off to the left and Pebble Creek rd is on the right. its a dirt road.

Follow Pebble creek rd for .5 miles.. you'll pass some houses and some
goats..Please drive slowly!!*

You will come to a fork in the road and a sign will be posted. Follow
the fork to the right and you will now be in driveway(very long
one)..follow this in slowly please passed a little shack on your left
and soon a white house... here you should drive until coming to the

in need of help and support.

About 3 years ago I had 2 very small scars removed by my doctor. They were surfaced scars that i had since i was a small kid. but i was self-conscience of them. Not knowing better i just had my normal family doctor remove them. one of the worst thing i could of done. about a week or so after having him cut them out ( he cut around them and down about a inch or more) i started to notice that the scaring wasnt turning out like i thought it would. i thought it would become a flat straight scar instead it became 6 to 8 times larger and raised roundish scars. And i had signed a form so i wouldnt be able to sue him if anything went wrong. Now not only are they horrible looking they have nerve damage now. i have gone to plastic surgeons and every kind of doctor i could think of that could help me and they all say they can't do anything as they might get even larger so i have come to the decision of getting a chest piece around them. i have a 2 star tattoo on my chest already from years ago. i can send pics of my scars if you need to see.

so im on the hunt now for a tattoo artist who can give me some info about my problem or help me at a low cost to taking care of this or even free if u can. as i am not working do to depression partly because of the impact these scars have had on me and for other reasons so i dont get alot of money a month. if you can be of any help please let me know. i'm sorry this turned out to be a long message but i'm just in need of help. thank so much for your time.

Who is Goa Gil?

Future of N.E.T. Events....

As many of you know I am moving out of town for a while. I will be gone for at least 5 months. This means that there will not be any N.E.T. shows for a while.

A lot of you have been asking when the next show is. I plan on having another event as soon as my job down south is over.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has made N.E.T. a success over the last 2 years. Thank you to everyone who supported my vision and shared in making some of the best dance events in the NW happen.
